Pregnancy & Children
During pregnancy a woman's posture and structure are constantly changing to adapt to the growing baby. Using very gentle stretching and tension balancing techniques, osteopaths can relieve much of the musculoskeletal discomfort and help body structure to cope with demands on it.
We take a careful obstetric history to be certain that there are no contra indications to osteopathic treatment. We are always happy to check expectant mothers after the birth to deal with any spinal or pelvic strains, and look forward to meeting the new baby! |
For some of us who avoid accident or injury, being born may be our most physical trauma. When labour is prolonged or delayed, or the baby's position in the uterus causes problems, physical strains on both mother and baby may occur.
We are experienced in using very gentle cranio sacral techniques for patients of all ages, including babies and children.
Please contact us if you would like further information about paediatric osteopathy.

Testimonial
“Osteopathy has helped me a great deal during my pregnancy when I was suffering from very bad pain in my pelvis and lower back. I was recommended to the Congleton Osteopath Practice by another pregnant lady on my antenatal course that had also suffered with a painful pelvis. With gentle massage and manipulation my pains soon disappeared and I could carry on normally again. The relief was amazing.”
